Everyone must have come across this popular North Indian delicacy called Palak Paneer aka Cottage Cheese in Spinach curry. It serves your taste buds with a divinely delicious taste with the spice of Garlic, masalas and blended with subtlety of spinach and freshness of Paneer.

Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A (in the form of carotenoids), manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, calcium, potassium and vitamin C. It is a very good source of dietary fiber, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, protein and choline. And Paneer made from cow milk provides protein, minerals, carbohydrates, energy, calcium, phosphorous.
Well, today I have a non-conventional way of cooking this recipe for you guys which takes less ingredients, less effort and less time. Traditionally a Palak Paneer recipe includes tomato and onion puree but I believe it consumes a lot of time preparing those puree and being an insanely busy person I always experiment with the traditional recipes and come up with a modern version that is easy, quick and effortless. So here presenting 7 Steps Quick & Easy Palak Paneer! Shall we get started then?
First of all we will heat up 2tbsp of cooking oil into a pan and add in some cumin seeds.
Once the cumin seeds leaves aroma and is sauted well add in 1 big chopped onion.
Once the onions get semi-translucent add in 4 pieces of chopped garlic and and an inch of chopped ginger. we’ll mix and cook them for a minute or so.
Step no.4 is all the masalas and green chillies are optional if you don’t like them. We’ll let the masalas cook for 2 to 3 minutes
Next we’ll add in the unusual ingredient: organic yoghurt. Since I am not using tomatoes (as per to the traditional recipe) to add in the sourness to the recipe I am using organic yoghurt.
Next, we’ll add the only puree we’re dealing with : Spinach. Boil half a cup of water, take about 250 gms of Spinach, steam it for about 5 mins and then blend it into a puree.
And lastly, add in fresh Paneer cubes. If you have just brought out the Paneer out of the freezer and its pretty hard; heat up some water and keep the paneer in the hot water for 3 minutes and it will come out soft.
And here is your quick, easy & yummy Palak Paneer!! Enjoy it with Roti, Rice or just on its own!
